What's new in Sage 200 2010?

The new features of Sage 200 2010 follow three key themes:

New Features / Wish List

  • Analysis Codes - All analysis codes in Sage 200 are now formulated in the same manner against the individual module records. This means reporting on these codes is now easier.
  • Electronic VAT Return Submission - Ensuring you comply with legislation changes and making it quicker and easier for you to submit and pay your VAT return.
  • New BOM Module - In the 2010 release the BOM Module has been re-written. This brings a number of benefits including: saving time and increasing flexibility.

Accessibility

  • Purchase Order Authorisation & Remote Alerts - Within the purchase order authorisation area of Sage 200 you can now authorise by roles. This means you can set and apply different levels for those people who require their orders to be authorised. What's more, you will now have full control over the authorisation processes, making the order process more secure, with clear and concise rules allowing for a flexible approach to meet your requirements in this area. Remote Alerts enable you to receive email alerts to notify you when you have orders requiring authorisation, which can be authorised via a secure website. This ensures that the purchase order authorisation workflow is not held up by staff being away from the office. This enhances user experience and improves usability in this area by providing mobile purchase order authorisation.
  • Sage 200 Mobile - Sage 200 data is now accessible to you to view and search via certain Blackberry handsets. The search functionality via data feeds allow you to drill down and explore data with the ability to search customers, customer transactions, SOP, stock items and suppliers. This enables you to access data whilst on the move, giving you the power to make decisions when not in the office.

Information Management

  • New Report Designer - The Sage report designer is now incorporated into the Sage 200 suite (with the exception of the construction module). There is now a unified reporting layer which allows much enhanced report design. The majority of reports will be migrated across to the new report designer however, the old report designer will still be available to run alongside the new one to enable amended/bespoke reports to be upgraded if they cannot automatically be migrated. The new report designer and underlying reporting layer create an easier to use and more intuitive offering. This will bring a whole host of benefits including:
    • Simplified reporting scheme
    • Simplified use of analysis codes for reporting
    • Improved look, feel and usability
    • Report editing in preview mode
    • Drill-down reports
  • Workspaces - Four new workspaces have been added into Project Accounting. These new workspaces improve usability with quick, easy navigation to project accounting data:
    • The projects workspace allows you to see what makes up the total cost within the cost header in terms of the costs and revenues accrued to it and the level of completeness of the project itself and its sub-elements.
    • The Project Actual Costs by period and project actual net profit by period workspaces are for those who wish to view quantities by period.
    • Project Profitability enables a quick view of sales invoices that have been raised for a project but which are still outstanding.
